What’s the difference …

Between this picture and the one below?

Oh, about 48″. Certainly a little bit of luck and timing in getting the opening shot with the flying puppy dogs, but no amount of either would ever yield as dynamic shot as above if you are photographing while standing up while your subjects are rolling around on the ground.

Try different angles and especially, be sure to shoot from your subject’s eye level. What it be a bug, a dog, or a person!
