What an amazing morning, with a heavy overcast at sunrise I was at the foot of Taos Mountain in the 29F weather wearing almost all of my layers. Walking along the edge of a field I visited with some local bovines and took their portraits, and waited for the sun to rise.
After a couple hours of photography I took the ~1.3 mile walk back to the house (about 1/4 mile as the crow flies!) only to find moments after sitting down with a cup of hot coffee that the clouds were finally breaking up! I raced outside to capture some shots before they were gone, including the one above.
The weather moves quickly out here in Taos. If you snooze even a couple of moments the magic may be gone.
