Saturday’s loss by the Huskies was difficult, but there were spots of brightness throughout the day and plenty to build on as UConn looks to move forward with new coaches and quarterback.
A few more quick selects from the day below. Ultimately it was a beautiful day to be out photographing football. As is always the case, it is good to be prepared and ready to think on your feet as a photographer. Not only is understanding the game, the flow, and being able to anticipate the action important, knowing, understanding and trusting your equipment as just as key in a fast moving sport. Moments before the game started, the step down bushing to attach my monopod to monopod head sheared off and I had to rejigger the whole thing. I ended up connecting the monopod directly to my the lens collar and was able to make it work, albeit with slightly less flexibility. With no time to spare, however, “less flexibility” was better than “hand holding a 10lbs lens+body setup.”
