Looking back at everything I have done this year, I realized it is time to set some goals for 2010. My goal of “one of everything” for 2009 was nebulous which worked for where I was at the time. Since I’m actually recording this I made an effort to come up with some very concrete, black-and-white goals. Also, I tried to set goals that were attainable, yet would still be a lot of hard work to get to them all. Finally, they represent a mix of continuing to try a little bit of everything while beginning to focus on improving and learning more in those areas I found I enjoyed.
My goals for 2010:
- Read five new photography books
- Best Business Practices for Photographers, Second Edition
- The Hot Shoe Diaries: Big Light from Small Flashes
- Perception and Imaging, Third Edition: Photography–A Way of Seeing
- Wabi-Sabi: for Artists, Designers, Poets & Philosophers
- VisionMongers: Making a Life and a Living in Photography
- Hopefully more than five
- Increase fine art & print gross sales by 500%
- Quite reasonable for my business today.
- Get one new commercial customer
- Get on the field to shoot for a UConn Football game.
- I’ll “settle” for some other D1 or professional sports, but watching the photogs on the field at a game in October 2008 was one of the triggers for my very successful 2009 mantra of “One of everything” and I simply feel I need to make that happen.
- Shoot second for a wedding
- Shoot with three new models
- TFP/TFD fine
- Create one fusion style video of an event using my own images and still. Create using Adobe Premiere.
- Attend two conferences/workshops
- Photoshop World
- TBD
- Take a multi-day trip for the explicit purpose of taking photographs
- Possibly Yellowstone or other national parks out west.
- One blog post per week between DPExperience.com or JeremyPollack.net
- Submit my quarterly taxes on time
- Don’t burn out! Remember to stop and smell the roses.
